Subject Guide to China (CEAL) 

China Economic Information Network
Hosted by the State Information Center, a Chinese central government
agency. Provides comprehensive information on Chinese economy,
including searchable full-text reports, articles, and news.

China Today 
Visit its Bank and Finance, International Trade, Investment and
Business Opportunities, and ISO 9000 and Quality Products pages.

The Chinese Finance Association  
A non-profit organization aimed at facilitating the exchange of
ideas, knowledge and information on education, research and practice in
finance and related areas between the US and China.

Internet Guide for China Studies: Business & Economy (Heidelberg
University) 
Covers resources on exchange rates, general information, risk
information, business news, stocks reports, and company databases.

Academia Sinica, Taiwan 
Offers several online full-text databases. Chinese software (Big5 Code)
needed to view and search databases.

National Central Library (Taiwan)   (Graphic Mode) (Text Mode: faster)
Provides access to many of NCL's online databases, such as the union
catalog of major university library collections in Taiwan, Chinese
periodicals directory, current contents of Chinese periodicals, index to
Chinese periodical literature, catalog of ROC government publications,
dissertation abstracts, and literary resources, etc. Chinese input software
(Big5 Code) needed to search databases. Connection is slow.

National Palace Museum (Taiwan) 
The Collections page provides lots of colored images of important  art
works, books, and documents, some with annotations. The Chinese
page has a link to the Library page which provides information on its special
collections of rare books and archival materials. The Library also offers
full-text databases (free of charge) for major Chinese classics, 25 Dynastic
Histories (Erh shih wu shih), T'ang poetry (Ch'uan T'ang shih), and the
Catalog of Ssu k'u ch'uan shu (Ssu k'u tsung mu).

Political Resources on the Net -- Taiwan
Listings of political sites related to Taiwan, with links to parties,
organizations, governments, media, etc.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York 
Very useful for general information about Taiwan and its government.

Taiwan History Online
Covers important events throughout history of Taiwan, starting
from late15th century. Also provides a list of historical place names and a
historical chronology. Has both Chinese (Big5 code) and English pages.

Yam.com (English) 
A searchable index which provides links to all Web sites in
Taiwan. Also provides Chinese interface (In both Big5 and GB Codes).
