The Summer Institute for Chinese Studies Librarianship is a rigorous two-week training program focused on electronic collections and services.

The institute trainees, a group made up of librarians who are responsible for Chinese Studies collections or services at North American libraries, will participate in classes on Chinese studies librarianship and library management in the electronic environment. Institute graduates will receive a certificate upon completion of the program.

Institute trainees will need to make their own travel arrangements and should plan to arrive in Seattle on July 18, 2008 and depart Seattle on August 2, 2008.
The application deadline was February 29, 2008; applications are no longer being accepted. Our registration form is now closed.
Location and Facilities
The Institute will be held on the beautiful Seattle campus of the University of Washington. Participants will have use of the Suzzallo Library Instruction room with individual computer workstations. The East Asia Library will be available to participants outside of class time for projects and assignments.
