Specifics include Web 2.0 technologies (wikis, blogs, RSS feeds, etc.), open access, and how to talk with your IT department about your technology needs. Session 2: Discussion of trends, with a focus on specific technologies. Topics to be covered may include cloud computing, open source software, and special needs associated with CJK scripts.

Goals:The goal of this class is to provide an overview of information technology trends in academic libraries, with an emphasis on use and application.

Format: mostly lecture, but also some small group work.

Class Schedule and Assignments: For this session, participants should use the del.icio.us Web site to tag 10 different electronic resources or web sites that are helpful to researchers (students or faculty) in your subject specialty.
