Recent Updates on Pinyin Conversion in EAL

  • Monograph Materials

    • From October 27 through November 2, 2001, 64,571 machine converted pinyin records for all library locations on campus were loaded into the online catalog.

  • Periodicals

    • Chinese periodicals located in West Stacks have been converted from Wade-Giles to pinyin and are online. (Please Note: This does not include titles which are entirely in remote storage.) In the summer of 2004, the library started on the conversion of Chinese periodicals located in Kane Hall Auxiliary Stacks. As this project progresses, more and more titles will be online in pinyin.

  • Data Correction

    • As of December 20, 2001, 72 records containing "Daiwan" instead of "Taiwan" were corrected in the online catalog
