Fisheries-Oceanography Library


Collection

The Fisheries-Oceanography Library collects broadly in the areas of oceanography, fisheries and marine studies. The collection is especially strong in regional Northwest fisheries material, including documents from the UW Fisheries Research Institute, the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration including the National Marine Fisheries Service, Washington Sea Grant, and from several agencies of the Canadian government. In addition, the library contains many reports and statistical compilations from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

    Accessibility

    The east entrances of the Oceanography Teaching Building and the main door to the library are wheelchair accessible. A staff elevator is available for access to the lower level. Assistance in the retrieval of books or in the use of other library tools and resources may be requested from staff at the Circulation desk.

    Copy Machines

    Photocopy machines taking coins, $1 bills, or Quick Cards are located on both levels of the library. Quick Cards may be purchased for $5.00 at a vend unit in the library. The South Campus Center is the nearest location to obtain change. Change is not available at the Fisheries-Oceanography Library. Staffed Copy Centers are located at many places on campus.
