    • International Financial Statistics (IFS)(UW RESTRICTED)
      by the Inter. Monetary Fund. "The IFS database contains approx. 32,000 time series covering more than 200 countries and areas and includes all series appearing on the IFS country pages; exchange rate series for all Fund member countries, plus Aruba and the Netherland Antilles: major Fund account series; and most other world, area, and country series from the IFS World Tables."

    • SourceOECD (UW RESTRICTED)
      supplies timeseries statistical data available to download, view, and print plus also full-text Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) copies of many OECD and IEA publications. See also a way to access and download MS. Excel tables from within .pdf copies of publications using "StatLink".
      OECD.Stat is a new source for OECD Statistics which is available from within SourceOECD.

      Provides statistical time series data available to view, download, and print for a wide range of countries. Note: Has replaced the United Nations Common Database.

    • Global Financial Data (UW RESTRICTED) "Data is a collection of financial and economic data provided in ASCII or Excel format. Data includes: long-term historical indices on stock markets; Total Return data on stocks, bonds, and bills; interest rates; exchange rates; inflation rates; bond indices; commodity indices and prices; consumer price indices; gross domestic product; individual stocks; sector indices; treasury bill yields; wholesale price indices; and unemployment rates covering over 200 countries." [Some of the data is from governmental sources.]
    • IMD world competitiveness online "based on information from the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook, the leading annual report which has been published by IMD since 1989. The statistics are updated on a regular basis, as soon as new data become available. The competitiveness rankings are recalculated once a year, usually by mid-May...."
    • Penn World Table "The Penn World Table provides purchasing power parity and national income accounts converted to international prices for 188 countries for some or all of the years 1950-2004." By the Center for International Comparisons of Production, Income and Prices, Univ. of Pennsylvania.
    • Trade Statistics [International].
    • UT [Texas] Library ONLINE, Statistics and Demographics, by the University of Texas Library. Free, excellent, easy to use links to interactive electronic statistical data. Not all sources are from IGO's or governmental sources, nor are they all available to University of Washington users.

    INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION CODES and TRADE STANDARDS:


    • UN Classifications Registry "The Classifications registry keeps updated information on Statistical Classifications maintained by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD)." This is a vast listing of international codes, eg. ISIC, STIC, HS, correspondences, etc. Don't miss the "Free Downloads" page!
    • UNeTradeS.Net Standards for Trade and Electronic Business.
      "UNeTrades.Net pays special attention to the requirements of the digital economy by distributing, ready to use, downloadable electronic versions of important standards and codes such as country codes, currency codes or UN location codes."

    • Interactive Tariff and Trade DataWeb, U.S. International Trade Commission. Note that the codes are in some cases modified by the United States Government and the data is for U.S. trade.
    • RAMON, Eurostat's Metadata Server compiles worldwide classfications with an emphasis on Europe and European statistics.
