The Interlibrary Loan database uses various statuses to track Interlibrary Loan requests. These statuses, listed below, may be used to pinpoint the exact location of any given item at any given time. Please note that these statuses reflect the actions of the requesting customer as well as those of the Interlibrary Loan staff.

Awaiting Copyright Clearance |
This article request has been submitted by the customer and it is awaiting processing by Interlibrary Loan staff. |

Awaiting ALA Processing |
This item cannot be requested via OCLC. It will now be processed as an ALA (American Library Association) request and sent via fax, email, or mail to a potential lender. |
|
Awaiting Customer Contact |
This requested item has arrived and has been processed by Interlibrary Loan staff, but we have not yet contacted the customer to inform him/her that the item has arrived. |
|
Awaiting Post Receipt Processing |
This requested item has arrived, but has not yet been processed by Interlibrary Loan staff. |
|
Awaiting Doc Del Stacks Searching |
This requested item is in Document Delivery processing by Interlibrary Loan staff. |
|
Awaiting Request Processing |
This requested item has been submitted by the customer and has gone through the copyright clearance process, if necessary. It is now ready to be searched and requested from potential lenders. |
|
Awaiting Return Label Processing |
This item has been returned to the Interlibrary Loan office by the customer. It is currently awaiting return processing so that it can be returned to the lender. |
|
Cancelled By Customer |
The customer has cancelled this request and no longer requires the requested item. |
|
Cancelled By Interlibrary Loan Staff |
This request has been cancelled by Interlibrary Loan staff. The reason for this cancellation may be found in your Interlibrary Loan account by clicking on the "View/Resubmit Cancelled Requests" button and looking at the detailed information for the cancelled item. Note: If one of your requests is cancelled by Interlibrary Loan staff, we immediately send you an e-mail message explaining why the item was cancelled. |

Customer Notified via E-Mail |
The requested item has arrived and has been processed by Interlibrary Loan staff. The customer has been notified of its availability via E-Mail. This status reflects the customer's preferred notification method (E-Mail) as entered in his/her personal information page. |

Customer Notified via Phone |
The requested item has arrived, has been processed by Interlibrary Loan staff, and the customer has been notified of it's availability via telephone. This status reflects the customer's preferred notification method (Phone) as entered in his/her personal information page. |
|
Customer Removed from Interlibrary Loan |
This customer has been deleted from the Interlibrary Loan system. Potential reasons for this might include non-eligible status, duplicate customer records, or disciplinary action for abuse of privileges. |
|
Delivered to Web |
The requested article has arrived, has been processed by Interlibrary Loan staff, and has been posted to the customer's personal Interlibrary Loan account page. It may be viewed by clicking on the button labeled "View/Download Electronically Received Articles". |
|
Extensive searching |
Interlibrary Loan staff is searching for the requested item using a variety of databases and indexes. A request will be placed when the item has been verified and located. |
|
In DD Stacks Searching |
The requested item is available in the UW Libraries and ILL staff are in the process of retrieving and copying it. You should receive an email within 24-48 hours when the item has been posted to your account. |
|
In Print Queue |
The requested item has arrived and has been partially processed by Interlibrary Loan staff. It is currently awaiting the printing of its identification label. |
|
An ILL In Transit to Pickup Location |
The requested item has arrived and has been processed by Interlibrary Loan staff. It is being delivered to the pickup location selected by the customer. All materials with this status will appear in your UW Library account. Loans will continue in this status until they have been returned to Interlibrary Loan and are being processed for return to the lending library. |

In Return Address Print Queue |
The item has been returned to the Interlibrary Loan office by the customer. It has been checked in and is awaiting the printing of its return address label. |
|
Incorrect Item Received and Returned |
An item was received that does not match the item that was requested. The lender has been contacted and the original item has been re-requested. |
|
Item Checked In |
The item has been returned to the Interlibrary Loan office by the customer and the item has been checked in. It is now ready for return processing. |
|
Item Returned |
The item has been returned to the lender. |
|
Recalled from Customer |
The borrowed material needs to be returned to the lending library ASAP. Interlibrary Loan has recalled it from the borrower. Fines may be accruing on this loan. |
|
Received Incorrect/Partial Item |
An item was received that either does not match the item that was requested or is incomplete. Interlibrary Loan staff will determine the quickest means to correct this. |
|
Request Finished |
The entire request process has been completed successfully. Note: Cancelled requests are not at "Request Finished" status and thus do not display under "View Request History". Cancelled requests may be found under the "View/Resubmit Cancelled Requests" button. |

Request Held Until [date] |
This status is used to hold a request for later processing. This
is often used when there is only one potential supplier and they have notified us that they cannot fill the
request until after that date.

This request is being processed at this moment. |
|
Request Sent |
This request has been placed with potential suppliers and Interlibrary Loan is waiting for the item to be shipped by a lender. |

Submitted by Customer |
This request has been submitted by the customer and is awaiting processing by Interlibrary Loan staff. |
