Netflix Service for UW Instructors

The UW Libraries Media Center is pleased to offer UW instructors (e.g. faculty, lecturers, TAs) access to a free Netflix DVD rental service. This service will augment our permanent collections by offering access to titles we do not currently own, faster access to popular titles we do own, and the opportunity to preview titles before requesting they be purchased by the Libraries. How it works

1. Check to see if the DVD you are looking for is available from the UW or Summit Libraries. If so, borrow it from there.
2. If the DVD you are looking for is not available from UW or Summit, search for it at http://www.netflix.com/
3. Once you find it on Netflix, completely fill out our online Netflix Request Form
4. Wait for an email notifying you that your requested DVD is on hold at the Media Center in Odegaard Library.
5. Pick up the DVD at the Media Center and return it to the Media Center on or before the due date.

Details

Purpose - DVDs requested through this service are intended to be used for UW instructional purposes only. You must provide the pertinent course name and number when requesting a title.

Number of Requests - Since we are limited to 8 simultaneous Netflix rentals, instructors are limited to 1 Netflix request at a time.

Check Out Time - Like the Media Center's permanent collection, Netflix DVDs can be checked out for 3 days and renewed via Your Library Account.

Pickup & Drop Off Location - Netflix DVDs must be picked up and returned to the Media Center in Odegaard Library.

Damage & Loss - Lost or damaged Netflix DVDs may result in fines.

Turn Around Time - Media Center staff will process requests as soon as possible, though we cannot guarantee delivery time by Netflix.

Duplication - If a DVD being requested from Netflix is available from the UW Libraries or any Summit library, we will recommend the instructor use this copy.
