Dear Colleagues:

As we prepare for Annual Conference in New Orleans, many of us are
asking how we may be of assistance to libraries and library users
affected by the hurricanes.

What Geraldine Harris, NOPL Assistant City Librarian has asked for
right now, is help in rebuilding the Vietnamese Collection. She says that:
" though the branch that served the Vietnamese community is not back, the
community is, and we would like to do outreach to them.."

She is especially seeking new or "like new" books and gives these
instructions:

Anyone wanting to ship books to us can do so to New Orleans Public Library 219 Loyola, New

Orleans, LA 70112, attention Rica Trigs. DO NOT SEND anything by US mail unless it is

first-class. We do not receive anything that is not first class. We can receive
packages via FedEx, UPS, and DHL.

You also may want to indicate the contents, i.e. 'Vietnamese Books and Materials'.

Thank you in advance!
