Subject: Anthropology Bibliography

Dear Colleagues,

I apologize for addressing this email primarily to the anthropologists on this list, but I am involved in a project, sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Education, to create a bibliography of anthropological writings on Vietnam for students and researchers in Japan. My own role in the project is to collect English language sources for the bibliography. While I can do a good deal of that through various book and periodical database searches, I have discovered that many search engines have significant gaps in them, particularly with regard to the publication of book chapters and journal articles, and pieces that have been accepted for publication but have not appeared in print. To address this deficiency, I would like to ask people who have pieces that might fit into these categories to email me their titles and bibliographic information (but not the hard copy), so I can add them to my list. I should note that the bibliography does have limits regarding how many English language sources will be included, and no author will have a complete listing of all their publications, but the project leader and I share the desire to try to introduce the work of as many anthropologists as possible so that future users of the bibliography will at a minimum know the names of other scholars in the field and their research interests.

If you would like to send something along to me, please email me at: malarney@icu.ac.jp

Also, please do not send anything as an attachment.

Thank you for your help.

Shaun Malarney
