Second International Conference on Vietnamese Studies: Vietnam on the Road to Development and Integration: Tradition and Modernity

This conference is jointly organised by the National Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of Vietnam (NCSSH), the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and, principally sponsored by the Ford Foundation.

Conference Objectives?

The conference aims
- To present research findings of Vietnamese and foreign scholars on historical and present issues of the development of Vietnam, to enhance the understanding about Vietnamese issues, to enrich the knowledge treasure on Vietnam from reliable sources inside and outside of Vietnam;
- To provide a forum for the scholars to exchanges opinions, experiences and research methods;
- To bring together researches on Vietnam and widely disseminate them by means of presentation in the conference, printed reports, publication of the conference's proceedings and publication on academic journals and other mass media;
- To make recommendation and consultation for those interested in development policies, to develop and perfect the institution, to strengthen the international cooperation.

Who Should Attend?

The conference aims to invite the attendance of teachers, researchers and experts in Vietnamese studies from various schools, colleges, universities and research institutes. School administrators, educational policy makers, community leaders and scholars are also encouraged to attend.

Conference Fee: With major assistance from the Ford foundation and contribution from other funding sources, the conference fee is US$70 and US$30 for students. The costs cover welcome reception buffet, and afternoon teas, conference lunches, admission to all sessions, translation and conference abstracts.
