National University, Canberra. Jointly organized by the Australian National

Vietnam Update is a series of annual conferences that focus on recent
economic and political conditions in Vietnam and analyze a select theme of
particular relevance to Vietnam's socio-economic development. This year's
theme is titled: "Not by Rice Alone: Making sense of spirituality in reform
era Vietnam." We are now soliciting proposals for eight papers on this
topic. These papers are be presented at the conference in Canberra in
August 2005 and, subject to meeting publication requirements, will be
published in a refereed edited volume.
The attached call for papers elaborates on the theme and outlines what is
expected of paper presenters.
The organizers invite interested writers to submit paper proposals with a
one page CV. Each proposal should not exceed 600 words. The proposal should
outline the scope of the paper, the kind of research it will be based on,
and how it relates to the issues highlighted in the call for papers.
