subject [Vsg] International Anthropology conference on Vietnam
Dear colleagues,
In connection with the planning under way for a major international conference
on the anthropology of Vietnam (to be held December 15-18, 2007), I
would like to hear from advanced ABDs in anthropology having conducted
extensive dissertation fieldwork in Vietnam or from their dissertation
advisors. I will appreciate being informed of dissertation topic, fieldwork
location and length, dissertation progress, name(s) of the advisor(s) for the
dissertation.
Despite the limited conference seating capacity at the resort where the
conference will be held,
we still have a few seats at this conference for advanced ABDs having made
substantial progress in their theses, and can provide
some conference funding for a few advanced ABDs whose paper abstracts and
papers are chosen for inclusion in the conference program. This conference
is funded by the Ford and Wenner-Gren Foundations. Please reply to

Dear colleagues,
I would like to clarify that the anthropology conference under planning is
not an open-registration conference due to the limited seating capacity. I
would also like to make a correction in my earlier message: we may
still have a few seats for advanced ABDs, depending on the final solution
on seating configuration. The information from advanced ABDs will help the
conference-organizing committee in its deliberations on seating
configuration.
