2008-09 VSG Graduate Paper Competition

Dear Colleagues:
Now that many of your semesters are fully underway, this seems like a good
time to remind everyone about the VSG's Graduate Student Prize
Competition. We are again looking for 5000-8000 word papers, to be
submitted to me at wilcoxw@wcsu.edu. The deadline for submission to these
papers is January 15, 2009.
The winner will receive a $500 prize, and the winner will receive a $200
travel award if they agree to come to the VSG annual meeting during the
AAS Annual Meeting, March 26-29 at the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago, Illinois
to pick up their award. In addition, they will receive a free year-long
membership in VSG, as will the honorable mention, if there is any.
Additionally, it is a requirement that all submissions come from current
VSG members. If you are not a current VSG member, simply submit the annual
student rate ($10), to David Biggs, VSG Treasurer, care of the History
Department at UC Riverside. Checks can be made out to the AAS.
