The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of
Singapore, invites applications for admission to full-time and part-time
graduate research-based and coursework-based programmes to begin in
August 2006, Semester I, Academic Year 2006-2007.

NUS Arts and Social Sciences PhD and Masters programmes, with
Scholarships Available

Next Application Date: 30 November 2005 (research programmes), 15
January 2006 (coursework programmes)

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of
Singapore, invites applications for admission to full-time and part-time
graduate research-based and coursework-based programmes to begin in
August 2006, Semester I, Academic Year 2006-2007.

Research-Based Programmes

Masters and doctoral programmes by research are available in the
Departments and Programmes of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

The research degree provides in-depth training in a particular subject
area through lectures, seminars and independent study culminating in the
preparation of a research thesis. A supervisor or supervisors will be
appointed for each candidate. Please visit the individual
Department/Programme websites via the above URL for the current research
interests of faculty members.

The Faculty awards, on a competitive basis, attractive bond-free
Research Scholarships which provide full-time Masters and doctoral
research candidates with a monthly stipend and a full tuition fee
subsidy. Outstanding candidates may also compete for the prestigious NUS
President's Graduate Fellowships. Doctoral research candidates are
eligible to apply for the bond-free Lee Kong Chian Graduate Scholarship.
The Faculty offers additional funding support for fieldwork and
conference participation. More information can be found at

Coursework-Based Programmes

Coursework-based programmes offer a comprehensive curriculum for
advanced studies in a specific academic area. The following coursework
programmes are now open for applications:

* Master of Arts (Chinese Studies)

* Master of Arts (Language Studies)

* Master of Arts (Literary Studies)

* Master of Arts (Southeast Asian Studies)

* Master of Social Sciences (Applied Economics)

* Master of Social Sciences (Economics)

* Master of Social Sciences (International Studies)

* Master of Social Sciences (Social Work)

* Graduate Diploma in Social Work

A limited number of the NUS Graduate Scholarships for ASEAN Nationals is
available for eligible citizens or permanent residents of member
countries of ASEAN (except Singapore). This scholarship is applicable to
full-time Masters coursework programmes {except Master of Social
Sciences (Applied Economics)}. Further details can be found at:
