The Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track position at the Professor/Associate Professor level in Social/Cultural Geography. Applicants who are Assistant Professor/Lecturer but who have excellent records in research and teaching are also welcome to apply.
Besides teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, we seek a faculty member who can contribute to cutting edge research and teaching in social/cultural geography. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience and expertise in these fields in the context of Asia. The candidate’s research and teaching activities should complement one of the Department’s existing areas of excellence in “Cultural and Heritage Landscapes and Tourism” or “Geographies of Transnationalism and Mobility” (see the main areas of research on the department’s website http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/geog).
In terms of teaching responsibilities, the successful applicant will be expected to teach at least 2 modules a year at the undergraduate level in the fields of social/cultural geography and/or geographical philosophies. The applicant should also be willing to teach graduate modules in his/her own areas of expertise.
