University of Washington, Lecturer in Vietnamese

The Department of Asian Languages & Literature seeks a full-time lecturer in Vietnamese to

begin Autumn Quarter 2007. The appointment is for one academic year. There will be a

national search for a full-time three-year lecturer in Vietnamese to be conducted in the

2007-2008 academic year. Preference will be given to applicants who have an MA in

Vietnamese, language pedagogy, applied linguistics or a relevant field, and have proficiency

-based language teaching experience. Applicants are expected to teach Vietnamese at three

levels. The successful candidate, if not a US citizen or permanent resident, must by the time

of his or her appointment possess an appropriate visa to enable him or her to be employed in

the United States. Send applications, including curriculum vitae, statement of teaching

interest, sample of representative teaching materials if available, and three letters of

recommendation to:

Priority will be given to applications received before June 8, 2007.

Finalists may be asked to submit a videotape demonstrating teaching ability. The University
