Subject: 2 Indochina questions

Dear all - I'm looking for help with two specific things:

1) Could someone point me to the most comprehensive source for the names and dates of tenure of French administrators in Indochina? I'm sure something is out there for the higher-ups, but even better if it goes down to the provincial level. I remember once seeing something along these lines for the entire French colonial empire (Greenwood Press, maybe?), but I'm having trouble tracking down the reference.

2) Does anyone know the exact year that the Societe des Missions Etrangers bought L'Avenir du Tonkin? I'm pretty sure it's around 1910, but can't find an exact date.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/answers.

Charles you may also want to check out the following:

This will give you the GGI, the Residents Superieur, and the Governor of Cochinchina.
