Dear VSG members,
I read today in Lao Dong newspaper (p. 3) that our colleague Dr. Hy Van Luong has received the honorary title of Professor at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City. Those of you who know Hy will all recognize the sacrifices of time and energy he has made in support of the development of the field of anthropology in Vietnam. He has been an adviser, teacher, dissertation supervisor and support to many of you.
Please join me in congratulating Hy for this well deserved and infrequently offered award.
