Subject: [Vsg] Controversy over Nguyen Ngoc Tu's novel

Saigon Times magazine reports a controversy over Nguyen Ngoc Tu's popular
novel Endless Field, described as a "literary look at the livelihood of
local farmers who still suffer from hardships" in Ca Mau province. The
book has sold 25,000 copies so far.

Ca Mau authorities have expressed concern over the negative effects of the
novel and requested the author submit to self-criticism. Saigon Times says
"many protested the attitude taken by some provincial authorities towards
a literary work and a writer."

Anyone here familiar with her work or the controversy?
