Films or novels on Agent Orange victims From: tak uesugi <tuesug@gmail.com> Dear list, Does anyone know of films or novels dealing with Agent Orange victims that are translated into English? From: DiGregorio, Michael <M.DiGregorio@fordfound.org> 2005. Nhung neo duong cong ly [the path to justice] by Lai Van Sinh, now general director of the Vietnam Cinema Department From: Nina <nina@easynet.fr> Dear Tak and list :
Duong Thu Huong’s latest novel, NO MAN’s LAND (Hyperion, 2005) looks at the tragic fate of a returned soldier affected by Agent Orange.
From: Susan Hammond <frdev@mindspring.com> The film A Story from the Corner of the Park by Tran Van Thuy. I am trying to get a decent version on DVD but can send you an okay version on DVD. Thuy has given us permission to redistribute the film for educational purposes. It is a documentary. There are several others done in VN some by the Vietnam Associatin of AO victims and one by the Red Cross. Also several being done now by American documentary film makers. Other documentaries are Battle’s Poison Cloud and two on the Friendship Village. A list is on our website http://www.ffrd.org/agentorange.htm
Also FYI Vanity Fair Magazine has an article in the August Issue out now on AO with photos by James Natchwey and an article by Christopher Hitchens. The photos are quite a contrast to the cover one of Hillary Swank on the beach in a bikini, they should ‘shock a few beach goers in the Hamptons’ when they turn the pages of the magazine as one of my Vietnamese colleagues stated.
