subject [Vsg] Hoà Hảo

Dear All,

Do we have experts on the Hoa Hao on the list, especially their contemporary
fortunes?

Re-the latter, is there anything published or online?

Feel free to contact me on or off list.

Best wishes

Martin

My first book, Millenarianism and Peasant Politics in Vietnam (1983) was about the Hoa Hao and its antecedent, the Bửu Sơn Kỳ Hương sect. But I have no knowledge of the contemporary fortunes of the Hoà Hảo.

Martin,

Pascal Bourdeaux recently finished a PhD in Paris on the Hoà Hảo:

He is presenting a paper at the upcoming UW Seattle Conference on Vietnamese
History: "Interpretative essay on the 'Hoà Hảo Revolution.'"

I do not know if he has information about the contemporary situation, but I
believe that he is on VSG list.
