Duties:

  • Under the general supervision of Bothell Library Technology Services staff, assist and instruct Bothell Library patrons in the use of computer software and hardware. (For example: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, web editing , scanning, printing, and file transfer applications).
  • Assist in the maintenance of computer workstations in the Bothell Campus Library Information Commons, computer classrooms, and common areas.
  • Provide in-person and telephone technical support for on and off-campus access to resources, including the UW Libraries off-campus proxy service, and Electronic Reserves.
  • Circulate, re-image and assist in the maintenance of circulating laptop computers, and other duties as assigned.

This position will work closely with other Library staff to provide service in support of UW Bothell and Cascadia Community College student research, writing, and presentation needs.

The Bothell Campus Library features more than 150 computers, most with Microsoft Windows 7, Office 2010, Internet access, and other programs and applications to support student and faculty research. In addition, there are five scanning workstations, an adaptive technology workstation, and a fee-based print and copy service.

    Required Qualifications:

    • A strong commitment to providing high quality customer service.
    • Experience using the internet to connect to web resources.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Familiar with the UWB/CCC co-located campus and its resources.
    • Ability to learn new software and adapt to the changing needs of the Campus Library and Information Commons.
    • Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot computer hardware/software/connectivity problems.
    • Experience working independently and collaboratively.
    • Experience using Windows XP, 7, and 8; and familiarity with Macintosh computers and operating systems.
    Additional Information:

    This position is located on the UW Bothell / Cascadia Community College Campus and is open to students enrolled in a degree program with either the UW or Cascadia.  Workstation for this position is UW Bothell Campus Library. Work Study students are eligible and encouraged to apply.
