    12-15 hours per week; schedule to be arranged upon employment
            • Position provides opportunity to gain an increased understanding of RDA, MARC, OCLC and Alma. An increased understanding of United States government publications, monographic and serials cataloging, as well as a wider appreciation of library operations is likely.
            • Clean, edit and create library data. Describe a backlog of U.S. government documents. Includes searching OCLC database for matching records, uploading records into Alma and adding holdings and item records. May also include adding additional copies or volumes to bibliographic records, and using online databases and print resources to verify and/or assign SuDocs call numbers.
            • Assist in preparing U.S. government document serial titles for description and binding. Involves verifying the accuracy of serial holdings and updating as necessary. Includes creating item records for titles needing binding, and organizing issues into binding order for final processing.
            • Assist in de-duplicating from Alma many OCLC records held by the Gallagher Law Library and UW Libraries. Involves relinking all items across all campus libraries onto a single bibliographic record, and deleting the duplicate record. May involve searching OCLC for corresponding electronic resource records and adding those to Alma.
            • Other duties as assigned.

                    Required Qualifications:

                            • Minimum 1-year library experience post high school required
                            • Strong written and verbal communication skills
                            • Must be able to identify, correct, and edit typographical errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation in written English language text
                                    Desired Qualifications:
                                        • Previous experience cataloging books or updating library catalog preferred
                                        • Information School students with an interest in cataloging strongly preferred
                                        • Previous experience with serials cataloging and/or U.S. government documents preferred.
                                        • Experience with OCLC preferred
