$15.45 per hour

Hours:

18-20 hours per week

Hours between 9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday

Duties:

  • Assist Curator with acquisitions of books, serials, maps, and other print materials.
  • Search complex printed and online bibliographic tools (Library Catalog (Primo), Alma, WorldCat, etc) in support of adding materials to Special Collections Re-house materials (create book covers and other boxes) as necessary
  • Retrieve and re-shelving print material
  • Promote collections on social media
  • Prepare inventories using a variety of software, including Google Drive, Microsoft Excel or other
  • May research, write, compose, edit and/or revise electronic documents, including business correspondence and web content.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Competent in MS Excel
    • Excellent handwriting and communication skills
    • Interest in library cataloging
    • Professional attitude, strong attention to detail and ability to stay self-motivated and complete all tasks assigned in a timely manner
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Currently enrolled in a Master's program
    • Experience working with museum, library, or historical collections or equivalent
    • Previous cataloging course work

    Other job details:

    • Training provided in searching, processing and other work with collections.
