Hours:

10 hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 7 am - 4 pm

Duties:

      • Processing library materials at the Health Sciences Library
      • Data entry: minor changes to linking records, under supervision
      • Help with collection projects and usage reports
      • Searching for and shelving library materials

          Required Qualifications:

              • Experience and confidence using Microsoft Office and Windows 7
              • Excellent understanding of the English language; specifically alphabetic and numeric filing
              • Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand on your feet during your shift
              • Ability to climb up and down stairs

                  Desired Qualifications:

                    • Knowledge of Excel desired
                    • Experience with Millennium DataBase preferred. Will train.
                    • Knowledge of Library shelf reading principles desired. Will train.
                    • Preference: Experienced Student Assistant. If experienced in the UW libraries, possible promotion to Student Technician level in future.
                      Other Job Details:
                      • Employee will be required to gather materials, load and push book trucks, as well as descend/climb a staircase in order to interfile the materials with items currently residing in our basement storage area.
