Hours:

16 - 19 hours per week; schedule to be arranged

Duties:

This position provides support for the assessment of the Libraries' websites and public services. Specific duties include:

  • Works with the Web Services unit and others to determine the appropriate methods for evaluation of the Libraries' sites and services
  • Plans and implements any evaluation sessions
  • Writes reports of evaluation findings as needed
  • Maintains the Libraries Usability website and blog (http://www.lib.washington.edu/usability/)
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of usability engineering methods including but not limited to:
    • heuristic evaluation
    • formal user testing
    • focus groups
    • contextual inquiry
  • Ability to create prototypes, mockups, and web pages quickly
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with UW Libraries services
  • Familiarity with user experience design and service design
  • Experience conducting usability tests, focus groups and other usability methods
