Rate:

$15.60 per hour

Hours:

12-15 hours per week

Monday - Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm; exact shifts to be determined upon hire

Duties:

  • Search OCLC database for matching records to U.S. government documents
  • Upload records into local catalog and create holdings and item records
  • Create minimal-level original bibliographic records for U.S. government documents and add those records to OCLC
This is a cataloging position, and does not include opportunity for database design.
    Required Qualifications:
    • At least one year post-high school library experience
    • Strong English skills (written and verbal) required. Must be able to identify spelling and grammatical errors in written English language text. Must be able to accurately correct and edit typographical errors in spelling and punctuation.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Previous experience cataloging books or updating library catalog
    • Experience with OCLC database
    • Information School students with an interest in cataloging strongly preferred
    Other Job Details: Excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in Library and Information Science. Hours are flexible, and position is conveniently located on campus.
