15-19 hours per week

Slightly flexible hours between 9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, and until 7:00 pm Tuesday-Wednesday


  • Work in Special Collections with Pacific Northwest Curator and team members to process and describe manuscript collections
  • Search complex printed and online bibliographic tools in support of adding materials to Special Collections
  • Arrange and describe archival collections according to Describing Archives: A Content Standard, and other standards in consultation with the Curator
  • Prepare inventories and finding aids of archival collections using a variety of software, including XMetal, Google Drive, Microsoft Excel
  • May research, write, compose, edit and/or revise electronic documents
  • Re-house materials as necessary
  • Retrieve and re-shelve record storage boxes
  • Perform research using primary and secondary sources on the historical context of the collection
  • Other duties as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Currently enrolled in a Master's program
  • Experience working with museum, library, or historical collections or equivalent
  • Competent in MS Excel
  • Excellent handwriting and communication skills
  • Professional attitude, strong attention to detail and ability to stay self-motivated and complete all tasks assigned in a timely manner

Other job details:

  • Training provided in processing, describing, and other work with collections.
