Rate:

$13.00 per hour

Hours:

8 to 19.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm

Duties:

  • Routine marking and processing of library materials.
  • Sorting and unpacking books and other incoming materials.
  • Using the Libraries' Alma database, searching for records as needed and updating workflows for incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Assisting Preservation Staff with the preparation of materials for commercial binding and with quality control of newly bound volumes.
  • Preparing outgoing shipments.
  • Providing support for other preservation activities as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform very detailed, routine work with accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain scheduled hours.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to discern problems/concerns and consult with staff as needed.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, including working effectively with fellow student employees.
  • Ability to type accurately.
  • Able to lift 45-pound boxes and maneuver fully-loaded book carts.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior library experience.
  • Experience with UW libraries’ catalog system (Alma and Primo).
  • Availability to work over summer quarter.
