Rate:

$9.04 per hour.

Hours:

  • 18 hours per week.
  • 3-4 hour shifts on weekdays between 10:00am and 10:30pm, as well as some
    weekend daytime/evening hours and University minor holiday hours.

Duties:

    • Provide assistance to library users at the Research Commons Help Desk in the Allen Library, including quick information and directional assistance, as well as some help with the Libraries Web site
    • Assist users with digital equipment, including connecting laptops and Macs to wall-mounted, plasma monitors, digital projectors, camcorders, etc.
    • Assist with the scheduling of collaboration/presentation spaces
    • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Research Commons, including furniture arranging, cleaning table and whiteboard surfaces on a routine basis.
    • Check out library materials and other circulation duties.
    • Assist in some Research Commons use data collection
    • Handle all room reservations
    • Oversee and maintain events signage.

      Required Qualifications:

        • Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work without direct supervision.
        • Must have strong verbal communication skills.
        • Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
        • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
          Desired Qualifications:
          • Experience in, and a strong desire to provide, public service.
          • Experience in supporting digital A/V equipment
          • Experience in supporting and trouble-shooting PCs and Macs
          • Some experience with supporting other digital equipment
