Rate:

$12.00 per hour (increasing January 1)

Hours:

10-19 hours per week; weekly hours to be determined between 7:00 a.m.-12:00 a.m., (Fridays and Saturdays until 5:00 p.m.)

Duties:

  • Shelve, move and locate library materials for patron use
  • Prepare outgoing mail and library materials for Interlibrary Loan
  • Receive, unpack, and sort incoming mail
  • Check books in and out for library users at the Circulation/Reserves Desk
  • Assist library users by answering directional and informational questions
  • Use the library catalog to perform basic searches
  • Assist staff in opening and closing the library
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Punctual and able to commit to agreed upon work schedule
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and able to perform routine tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Able to work during finals week.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Able to work closing shifts (until 12:00am Monday-Thursday; until 9:00pm Sunday)
  • Able to work opening shifts (7:00am-10:00am weekdays)
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Previous library experience
  • Strong public service skills
