Hours: 15-19.5 hours per week
Schedule to be arranged. Morning, evening, or weekend hours may be required.
Duties:
  • Shelves, shifts, retrieves books, periodicals and other library materials for patron use.
  • Prepares outgoing library materials for Interlibrary Loan.
  • Receives, unpacks, sorts and delivers incoming mail for patron pick up.
  • Uses standard computer applications for performing basic circulation tasks.
  • Checks books in and out for patrons at the Circulation/Reserves Desk.
  • Assists patrons by answering directional and informational questions.
  • Uses the library catalog to perform basic bibliographic searches for patrons.
  • Assists in opening and closing procedures of the library.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be detail-oriented and accurate in performing daily routine tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong public service skills are required.
  • Must be punctual and reliable and able to commit to an agreed upon schedule.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends is strongly desired.
  • Able to work for at least 2 consecutive quarters.
  • Excellent written and communication skills are desired.
  • Previous library experience is desired.
