New Libraries website to be unveiled August 29, 2004
The Libraries website redesign project began during fall quarter 2003 when we conducted an online survey to gauge user satisfaction with our website. Based on this and other data from our users we began redesigning the website in January, 2004. The site has gone through many iterations since then and many members of the campus community provided feedback on our ideas.
The overarching goals for this redesign include:
- eliminating redundancy and reducing jargon, especially on the front page
- providing easier access to the UW Libraries Catalog, our most used resource
- creating a new look and feel that is both usable for and inviting to our users
The UW Libraries website redesign includes significant revisions and enhancements to the:
- home page
- hours and locations page
- subject pages (provide access to resources - article databases, catalogs, reference books, web sites, etc. - organized by topic)
- navigation bar on each page (including the layout, look-and-feel, library logo, typography, etc.)
Please send any comments to the Libraries' web team.
