This half-day symposium brings together local activists and scholars to discuss why the urgent social issues of the time have generated an upsurge of populist demonstrations, including the Tea Party Patriots and Occupy Seattle movements. The symposium features a keynote address by Professor James Gregory, UW Department of History, panel discussions on the Occupy and Tea Party movements. (more)
