It has been an honor to serve on the ACRL - Washington Board, and I am looking forward to my final year of service as past-president. We have an excellent group on the Board, and I am pleased to turn the reins over to my colleague Corey Johnson, who will be President during 2007-08.

Jessica Albano and the nominations committee put together a strong slate of candidates for the Board, and the results of the election are available (see below). Thank you to those who stood for election, and congratulations and welcome to President-Elect Anna Salyer and new Member-at-Large Alyssa Deutschler. I'd also like to thank our outgoing members, Jessica Albano and Barbaraella Frazier, for their service to the Board.

Incoming, continuing and outgoing Board members will meet together on May 11. I am pleased to note that we will be meeting virtually, using the telecommunications capabilities at WSU and UW. If anyone has issues for the Board, please contact me before then.

Planning for the Pack Forest conference will be our main agenda item, although a great deal of work has already been done. The conference title is "The Visible Librarian: Establish Your Presence on Campus," and will take place October 25-26, 2007. I am very excited that Julie Todaro will be attending the conference and offering her Power of Personal Persuasion workshop. We are also accepting proposals for concurrent sessions during the conference. Sessions will be 60 minutes long and may address any and all aspects of academic librarianship relating to liaison work, outreach, marketing/public relations and partnerships and collaborations. Please submit proposals to Corey Johnson (coreyj@wsu.edu) by June 15.

Thank you all again for the opportunity to serve as President of the Chapter. See you at Pack Forest in October!

Beth Lindsay, outgoing President
