ACRL Washington State Chapter Board Position Descriptions:
Board of Directors


Composition: 

The Board of Directors shall consist of the elected officers (President, Vice President/President-Elect, Immediate Past-President, and Secretary/Treasurer); the two elected Members-at-Large; and the appointed positions (Newsletter Editor and Webmaster). All members are voting members.

Duties:

The Board of Directors shall have responsibility for the direction of the affairs of the Chapter. It shall conduct all business pertaining to the Chapter, and shall have authority between meetings.

The Board of Directors shall hold at least two meetings a year. One is to be held in conjunction with the Chapter's fall meeting and the other to be held in the spring at a time and venue determined by the President. Other meetings may be called as necessary. A quorum for the Board shall be four members. 

The Board of Directors may authorize standing and ad hoc committees. The Board of Directors may discontinue or declare inactive any committee.

In the event that a Member-at-Large or the Secretary/Treasurer cannot complete his/her term, the Board shall appoint a member to fill that position.

Deadlines:

September: The Board of Directors shall appoint a three-person Nominating Committee with the Past President as chair. The nominating committee will be announced at the fall chapter meeting.
