Present: Andrea Kueter, Kelley McHenry, Gary Menges, Karen Oberst, Helene Williams, Marie Zimmermann
1. Newsletter - Helene is continuing to think about the various delivery methods for the newsletter. She’s interested in knowing if members actually read it and what format people would prefer receiving it in? The Board thought we should continue to print the newsletter, but might also distribute it via the ACRL/NW listserv.
2. Legislative Report - There is no longer an ‘official’ WA ACRL member on the WLA Legislative Planning Committee, but Marie happens to be a current member of the committee and will keep ACRL apprised of any issues that are of concern specifically to the academic community.
3. Spring Workshop - Is being co-sponsored by ACRL/CLAMS/LMDC. It is being held April 30-May 1 in Spokane. The workshop will focus on librarians as educators, and will be the first in a series of workshops that will focus on this topic. Deb Gilchrist (Pierce College) is putting together a committee to plan the workshop. Kelley, Marie and Andrea volunteered to participate on the planning committee.
4. Fall Conference - Will be October 22-23 at Menucha. Karen will contact the Oregon ACRL to see if they’d like any help/input from us.
5. ACRL National - There is no new news from ACRL National regarding the draft report from the National Chapters Relations Task Force. Apparently any decisions/changes from National have been indefinitely postponed.
6. Nominating Committee - Kelley and Carla Rickerson (U. of W.) are trying to find candidates for President-Elect and Member-At-Large. Any suggestions for candidates will be welcome. They will forward the slate of candidates to the Board for approval.
Respectfully Submitted
