2009 Serials Cancellation
In April, Dean Betsy Wilson sent a letter to all faculty regarding the serials review process we are undertaking to meet the Libraries' 12% budget reduction. In order to meet this budget reduction the Libraries will be reviewing journal subscriptions, databases, other serials for probable cancellation. The Foster Business Library must reduce ongoing expenses for journals, databases, and serials by $55,000 per year. To put this in context, our serials allocation for Business in 2008-2009 was $335,500.
Foster librarians have reviewed our subscriptions to see what we think can live without and prepared a list of proposed cancellations for Business. We focused primarily on print subscriptions to titles for which we also have online access, low use print subscriptions, and lesser used online resources.
