November 30, 2004 -- Social Sciences Citation Index
The Social Sciences Citation Index database is experiencing problems this morning, with most connection attempts timing out or reporting errors. We've contacted the vendor and they are investigating. There is no estimate of when service will be restored.
November 29, 2004 -- Printing problem
If you chose double-sided copying, Balmer Copy Center, from the Foster Business Library's computers, you will find that your printing is single-sided. This problem has been reported but a fix has not been completed. If this problem happens to you, please report the number of the PC that gave you this problem.
November 29, 2004 -- CorpTech EXPLORE database down
The CorpTech EXPLORE CD-ROM database, located on PC #19, is still inoperable. CorpTech CD's are designed to prevent access after their quarter has terminated. Follow up action to obtain the new CD has been initiated.
November 24, 2004 -- Holiday hours
Due to the holiday, the Foster Business Library's hours are:
Wednesday, November 24, 8 am - 5 pm
Closed Thursday, November 25, Thanksgiving
Friday, November 26, 1 pm - 5 pm
The Foster Business Library then resumes its usual hours:
Monday - Thursday, 8 am - 11 pm
Friday, 8 am - 6 pm
Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm
Sunday, 1 pm - 9 pm
November 16, 2004 -- CorpTech EXPLORE database down
The CorpTech EXPLORE CD-ROM database, located on PC #19, is inoperable, since the latest quarter's CD has not yet arrived; it has been claimed. CorpTech CD's are designed to prevent access after their quarter has terminated. Hopefully, the new CD will be obtained and installed soon.
November 12, 2004 -- Theft alert
Three thefts were reported this morning in the UW Undergraduate Library, with personal belongings of students stolen; the third theft occurred after a library-wide announcement of the first two incidents. Do not leave personal belongings unattended in the library at any time.
November 12, 2004 -- UW Libraries Catalog available
The UW Libraries Catalog is back up again, after being down for scheduled maintenance yesterday.
November 10, 2004 -- UW Libraries Catalog to be down
The UW Libraries Catalog will be down, for scheduled maintenance, on Thursday, November 11, from 8:00 AM to approximately noon. The Summit online catalog will be available during this downtime, at http://summit.orbiscascade.org/; Summit includes holdings for all the UW Libraries. During this time, electronic reserves can be accessed through eres.lib.washington.edu.

November 24, 8 am - 5 pm
Closed November 25, Thanksgiving
November 26, 1 pm - 5 pm
The Foster Business Library's usual hours are:

Friday, 8 am - 6 pm
Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm
Sunday, 1 pm - 9 pm
