Monday, February 27, 2006 — ProQuest down
All of the ProQuest databases appear to be down at 1pm, on campus as well as at other area libraries; the vendor has been contacted. In the meantime, try LexisNexis Academic for article searches.
Thursday, February 23, 2006 — Network problems
Campus Computing & Networking is reporting systemwide problems this morning, with slow response time, servers unavailable, and webpages unreachable, due to a critical hardware failure.
Thursday, February 16, 2006 — Theft alert
Yesterday, three student backpacks were stolen in two library locations; please secure your belongings while using library resources.
Friday, February 10, 2006 — Value Line cancelled
In January, Value Line informed the library that the cost for its online subscription would increase by 50%, effective February 1. After several weeks of unsuccessful attempts to negotiate a more reasonable price, the library was forced to cancel the subscription to this database.
Library staff are now considering whether to reinstate a print subscription to the Value Line service.
