The Summer Institute for Chinese Studies Librarianship is a rigorous two-week training program focused on electronic collections and services.

The institute trainees, a group made up of librarians who are responsible for Chinese Studies collections or services at North American libraries, participated in classes on Chinese studies librarianship and library management in the electronic environment. Institute graduates received a certificate upon completion of the program.

Location and Facilities
The Institute was held on the beautiful Seattle campus of the University of Washington. Classes were usually held in the Suzzallo Library Instruction room with individual computer workstations.
