Location of the East Asia Library |
The East Asia Library is located on the third floor of Gowen Hall. This building is on the southwest corner of the Liberal Arts Quadrangle just across from Suzzallo Library. It also houses the Departments of Asian Languages and Literature, and Political Science. Built in 1932, it was the home of the School of Law until 1977 when it was rededicated to the memory of Herbert H. Gowen, an Episcopalian minister who was the first professor in the Department of Oriental Studies.
Directions to the library for out of town visitors and others unfamiliar with the campus of the University of Washington are available here.
