Printing Search Results at CASSIS Workstation #2

The Engineering Library strongly encourages downloading your search results to a disk.

If downloading is not an option, we ask that you limit your printing to the brief record ONLY and that you do not print hundreds of citations. For one reason, that the printer takes a long time to print even a short list of citations, and for the other, that paper is very expensive, both to the libraries and to the environment.

Do NOT use the print screen function available on the keyboard. It will cause the printer to print out garbled messages. The software does not support this function.Use the directions for printing supplied within this document and posted next to the CASSIS Terminals.

Press F4 to bring up the "Actions" menu and use the arrow down key to highlight the "Print..." line and press Enter. A shortcut to this is holding down the ALT key while pressing the P key.

The next screen has two important pieces of information you should look at before starting the print. You can change any of these options by using the arrow keys to highlight the line you wish to change. Pressing the SPACE bar will then bring up a menu of choices. Using the arrow keys highlight your choice, then press ENTER to make the selection.

If everything is okay, press the Enter key.

You will then get an on screen message while the text is printing which looks like the following. You will be unable to continue your search until the printer is done printing.

DO NOT RIP THE PAPER FROM THE PRINTER. Use the knob to advance the paper and carefully tear it off. Ripping the paper causes a misalignment of the track feeds and will cause a jam for the next user.
