Engineering Journals and Periodicals
Finding Journals in the University of Washington Libraries
Journals and Periodicals in the Engineering Library are shelved alphabetically by title on the 2nd floor of the library.
To find out if the UW Libraries owns a particular journal, the UW Libraries Catalog is your primary source. The catalog includes journals in all formats: print, electronic, cd-rom, microfiche, and microfilm. If the Library subscribes to a journal online, there will be a link from the Library Catalog to the online publication. You can also find e-journals here:
- Electronic Journals listed by title
- Electronic Journals listed by subject (scroll down to bottom of page)
Finding Articles
If you are searching for individual articles within a journal, visit the Engineering, Scientific, & Technical Databases page, or the UW Libraries Articles and Research Databases page and search a subject database for individual article titles.
Getting articles not owned by the UW Libraries
- Interlibrary Loan
Used to request entire volumes of journals, as well as individual journal articles not owned by the UW Libraries. It is usually faster and more efficient to request only the article or articles that you need. Many libraries do not loan out entire journal volumes.
- Purchase Request Form
Used to recommend that the UW Libraries purchase the journal for its collection.
