No food or drink is allowed by students in the ELIC. Instructors are allowed to have a covered container of water only. This policy helps to ensure that no food or drink is spilled onto the hardware.
Supplies:
Supplies will be available on the shelf behind the instructor's workstation and will include:
Instructors instructions:
We recommend that instructors arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled course time to make sure the room is set up and functioning appropriately.
After each class, the instructor must run a utility on each desktop machine called "Cleanup." This utility helps to ensure that each machine is set up properly.
At the completion of each scheduled section of a course, the instructor must request that each student also run the "Cleanup" utility and leave all the machines on.
Installation of course specific files or software:
Installation of course specific class files on machines or servers must be requested from C&C Computer Training, at least 30 days prior to a class. Software or files must function well within the standard room configuration. This functionality must be tested and approved by C&C Computer Training. Any software or files found to conflict with standard room configurations will not be installed. Software or files must be available to C&C Computer Training for testing no less than one month prior to the class for which they are requested.
Dealing with technical problems:
The ELIC has been set up in such a way to avoid most common problems. By executing the "cleanup" utility on each workstation, the machine will "clean itself up" so that all of the files on the machine are returned to their appropriate order.
In the event that cleanup does not resolve your problem, here are the escalation steps you can take:
