Technical Reports Pre- 1964
For Technical Reports published before 1964 use one of the following resources to determine the NTIS number:
- The Government Reports Announcements and Index contains documents published from 1971-75.
The call number is located in the Engineering
Reference Collection at Z7405 R4 U5132. Indexes for these volumes
are interfiled. Depending on what information you have about the
technical report, use the following sections of this index to find the
accession number. You may also need to check sections for up to five
years after the publication date, due to the lag time in indexing.
- Personal Author Index - Section 3
- Corporate Author Index - Section 4
- Contract/Grant Number Index - Section 5
- Report Number Index (1 - E) - Section 6
- Report Number Index (F - Z) - Section 7
- Keyword Index (A - L) - Section 1
- Keyword Index (M - Z) - Section 2
- For documents from 1965-71, use the U.S. Government research & development reports. The call number is 600 A-B472
in Engineering Reference.
- For documents from 1954-64, use the U.S. Government research reports.
The call number is also 600 A-B472 in Eng. Ref.
- For documents from 1949-54, use the Bibliography of technical reports.
The call number is also 600 A-B472 in Eng. Ref.
- For documents from 1946-49, use the Bibliography of scientific and industrial reports.
(same call number as above).
Note: Indexing may not exist for the older volumes.
If you have located the document in one of the above sources, and have determined the NTIS accession number, next:
- Use the UW Libraries Catalog, to see if the report is a cataloged part of our collection, OR;
- Ask at the Reference desk to see if the report you are seeking might be a part of our uncataloged
collection of technical reports.
Have you found the NTIS accession number?
