What is the Grants and Funding Information Service?

NOTICE! Office hours for the week of November 23rd are CANCELLED. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, December 1.

The Grants and Funding Information Service (GFIS) works to provide resources for outside funding opportunities to graduate students at the masters and doctoral level who have been admitted to or who are attending the University of Washington.

Undergraduate juniors and seniors who are considering graduate school should also attend a workshop or schedule a consultation to have an early start on any graduate funding they might need.

GFIS offers workshops and individual consultations to help students explore resources for potential funding. GFIS does not provide search services or money directly to students, but we do provide guidance to help students know which resources (print, database, or web-based) might give them the best opportunities and help students gain a better understanding of how to use these resources.

You can learn more about funding by visiting the FAQ Page . Workshop information is listed on our Events page.

Autumn Quarter 2009 Office Hours: Tuesdays 1-5pm and Wednesdays 11:30-3:30pm.
