- Grants.gov
The new on-line resource for searching and applying for federal grants. Some organizations such as the NIH and NSF have not fully migrated their application processes to Grants.gov. For more information on Grants.gov, including information on Grants.gov workshops and agency specific information, visit the UW's Office of Research.
- MOLIS
Minority
On-line Information Service contains information on minority scholarship/fellowship
support.
Federal Agencies
While Grants.gov is the most comprehensive source to search and apply for federal grant opportunities,
you may be able to find additional information about grant opportunities (such as previous grant awardees) on the web sites for individual federal agencies. Below is
a list of many federal agencies that list funding opportunities on their web site.
- Department of Agriculture
- DOD: Department of Defense Advanced Research
Projects Agency (ARPA)
- The Department of Education has a
programs web page that
lists all programs organized by subject, title, who’s eligible to apply, and more.
- Department of Energy -- They also have a

and Internship Opportunities page.
- Environmental Protection Agency -- You might
want to search their Research
Grants and Fellowships page, or their Grants and Environmental Funding page. They also have a
Grant-Writing Tutorial.
- Department
of Health and Human Services GrantsNet
- HUD: Housing and Urban Development, including
their listing of HUD grants here.
They also have a special page for small
businesses with potentially useful information.
- Institute of Museum and Library Services -- includes a monthly e-mail newsletter service, Primary
Source "that links you to current agency news, grant deadlines, new publications,
and highlights of funded projects."

- National Archives -- includes a Grants page.
- NASA Office
of Space Science - Research Opportunities and Awards -- An
Space Science Research Announcements update service is also available.
- National Coordination Office for
Computing, Information, and Communications

Office -- The Fellowship Programs Unit administers predoctoral, dissertation,
postdoctoral, and other fellowship programs for advanced study in research-based
disciplines.

Small Business Innovation Research
- The U.S.
State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (includes
educational and cultural exchanges, Fulbright
information and more!). They also provide an enormous amount of information
about living abroad.
