ingenta Reveal
Warning: Ingenta/Uncover Reveal will be discontinued
after 12/31/03
After careful analysis, the UW Libraries has decided to discontinue the ingenta
Reveal service, effective December 31, 2003. After that date, you will no longer
receive any updates that you may have been receiving up to now.
We are taking this action because of budget constraints (the cancellation
will save $8,250 this year), user complaints about the service, and the availability
of alternatives. For instance, you may be interested in
Current Contents to set up automatic email updating. Brief instructions
for doing so are available on
Healthlinks .
You will find options for some other databases and alerting services on Library
web pages for:
Biomedical researchers
Other subject
areas
Please contact us if you would like additional information or help in
exploring or setting up alternative alerting services.
Following are the instructions for setting up or managing ingenta/Reveal accounts.
These instructions will be removed after 12/31/03.

WHAT IS ingenta Uncover Plus and ingenta Reveal
Research Alerts?
ingenta Uncover Plus is a database of over 11 million
citations from more than 26,000 journals, with coverage back to 1988.
It includes journals from the former Uncover database.
ingenta Reveal Research Alerts Service is an electronic
mail alerting service that keeps you up to date on the latest
articles published in your field. ingenta Reveal sends citations and
table of contents listings that fit your personal subject and journal
profile directly to your email account once a week. ingenta Reveal
users may select up to 50 journal titles to receive table of contents
notification and also have up to 25 search strategies run weekly
against all new articles added to the ingenta database. The service
is FREE to UW faculty, staff and students.
Many of the journals indexed in ingenta are available at the UW
Libraries. Check the UW
Libraries Catalog for library location, the Information Gateway
Electronic Journals page, or use the
order form to request copies of articles.

username and password:
You can login to ingenta using your UnCover profile ID and
password in the username and password fields. If you are presented
with a registration form, this is because ingenta needs some more
information from you to add to your existing profile. If you get a
message that your username and password is not recognized, you should
enter your password in uppercase. If you have forgotten your
password, you will need to email the ingent help desk at: help@ingenta.com.
Reveal research alerts and table of contents (TOC)
alerts:
If you have existing alerts set up in UnCover, these have been
transferred over and will continue unless you choose to delete them.
See Deleting Search Strategies or Deleting Journal Titles for more
